Apparently, Rolling Stone does not train its editors in crisis communication. That, or maybe Senior Editor Christian Hoard fell asleep during that meeting.

Just to review: When your magazine is in trouble for glorifying a murderer on its cover, the proper response from senior editorial staff does not include obscene jokes issued (and promptly deleted) via Twitter.

Not only will this action be perceived as tone deaf, but most of the responses are likely to involve the same vulgarities as those used in the original tweet. For example:
